Darren Palmer

Darren Palmer is best known as a TV personality and judge on The Block, but this is only one of his many gigs. The interior designer is also a writer, speaker and ambassador who constantly strives to share his knowledge on how to create a beautifully presented home. And now Darren has made it easier than ever to get his polished look by designing a homewares collection with Myer.

“Curated with sophistication and ease in mind, my range for Myer is designed to help you achieve layered and beautiful interiors in your own home,” he says.

Recognising Darren as one of Australia’s most influential interior designers, Myer approached him to design a collection. The launch range includes bed linen, cushions, bath towels and decorator items.

“Darren’s unique aesthetic is showcased beautifully in his collection, which makes his high-end look accessible for everyone,” says Dain Friis, Myer group general manager home and entertainment.

The release is timely given we are coming into spring and itching to refresh our homes! We asked Darren for his top five picks for a style update.

1. ‘Tea Tree’ cushion, $79.95

Cushions are a major player in Darren’s launch collection, bringing texture and pattern to the fore. Both neutral and accent styles are available to achieve a sense of balance. “Cushions are such an easy update, and I love the detailing in this one.”

2. Lacquer tray, from $39.95

Chic trays are a great canvas for vignettes that showcase your personal style. “These come in three sizes, which are designed to fit together or can be used separately. I love a bit of layering.”

3, ‘Reed’ Belgian linen range in Tobacco, from $69.95

The finest Belgium flax linen pre-washed for softness is perfect for a relaxed yet refined aesthetic. “New bedlinen can absolutely lift a room, and I really love the colour – it’s a beautiful muted shade with real depth.”

4. Stag horn coral, $29.95

“I love the coral (it’s resin, before you ask).” An easy styling accessory that will give you instant coastal style. “I don’t ever feel like a space is finished until it has layers of smaller pieces.”

5. ‘Golden Birch’ cushion, $79.95

With a textured finish, this geometric printed pillow will add a regal element to the bedroom. Balanced with navy and on-trend metallics, the cushion becomes a focal point in its own right. “This print is the perfect pick-up with my grey-and-white beach palette.”
